Campsite and hostel in the middle of Frederiksværk

Frederiksværk Camping and Hostel is located in the heart of Frederiksværk in Halsnæs Municipality — in the middle of North Zealand's beautiful nature, but with all the city's amenities within walking distance.

Our campsite has 12 cabins in 4 different types, 100 pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents, while the hostel offers 30 rooms for families, couples and groups.

Here you live only 300 meters from Frederiksværk's cozy pedestrian street with shops and eateries, 650 meters from Frederiksværk Station, and with the old canal running through the backyard. From here you can paddle a canoe to Denmark's largest lake, Arresø, or sail towards Roskilde Fjord and Hundested.

Our accommodations cater to every budget, from a simple camping spot to fully equipped mobile homes with private bathrooms and kitchens. All guests benefit from free Wi-Fi, free parking, and access to our well-maintained communal facilities with a kitchen and bathrooms.

Experience Frederiksværk and Halsnæs

Frederiksværk is the hidden gem of North Zealand—a historic canal town with roots in Danish industrial history, surrounded by unique nature. From the campsite, it's only a few minutes' walk to the town's pedestrian street with shops, cafes, and restaurants, and the Gjethuset cultural center is just 400 meters away.

Nature is never far away in Halsnæs. Take a canoe trip from our own shore along the 303-year-old canal to Arresø – Denmark's largest lake – or paddle the other way towards Roskilde Fjord, heading for Hundested or Frederikssund. Cycling routes and hiking trails lead you through forests and along the coast. Liseleje Beach is only 6 km away.

Campsite spots start at DKK 110/night for 1 person. Caravans or motorhomes including 2 people cost DKK 160/night. Children 0–18 years camp for free. Electricity can be purchased for DKK 60/day or DKK 5.50/kWh.

Yes, we rent out canoes and kayaks all summer. Start directly from the canal at the campsite and paddle towards Arresø or Roskilde Fjord. Prices from DKK 100/hour. Paddles and life vests are included.

Yes, our event venue is perfect for weddings, birthdays, confirmations, and company parties. Bring your own food and drinks without a corkage fee. Up to 75 guests, with the option for overnight stays in rooms and cabins. Prices starting from 6,500 DKK.

We are located at Strandgade 30, 3300 Frederiksværk — in the center of town, 300 meters from the pedestrian street, and 650 meters from Frederiksværk Station. The canal runs through the backyard with access to Arresø and Roskilde Fjord.

A warm welcome awaited us at Frederiksværk Camping & Hostel when we had to take cover after two rainy days in our tent. The host was most kind and helpful, got us a last minute indoor stay at a great price, and a most needed hot cup of coffee. The camping space has a lovely forest trail and a canal, and a great atmosphere. If we ever go again we’ll make sure to stay for longer.
