🛶 Guide: Go by canoe from Frederiksværk Camping to Arresø (650m)

Here you'll find simple instructions on how to easily and safely get from Frederiksværk Camping (Strandgade 25) to the slipway at Arresø, where the canoe trip starts.

1. Start at the campsite:
Leave Frederiksværk Camping with the canoe on a canoe cart. Follow Strandgade all the way up through the town.
👉 Always walk on the right side of the road, slightly towards the center, as there are often cars parked on the edge. Be careful not to hit the cars with the canoe.

2. Pay attention to traffic:
If cars are approaching from behind, let them overtake quietly and calmly.
🚫 Don't pull the canoe to the side if it feels unsafe - instead, stand the canoe and pull to the side yourself so the car can pass. This is to avoid hitting parked cars.

3. When you reach the end of Strandgade (at Turbinehuset):
🔄 Turn right into the small park.
Follow the path around and cross the road. Here you will find a small gravel path down to the water.

4. Follow the gravel path:
After a few meters along the gravel path, you'll see the slipway where you can put your canoe in the water and begin your journey on the canal towards Arresø.

💡 TIP: It's best to have one adult in front and one behind the canoe for better control and safety for everyone.
