Our location is strategically placed to ensure that groups can easily arrive and depart without difficulty, contributing to a hassle-free start and end to your adventure.

Public transport:

Our campsite is accessible via a range of public transport options including trains and buses which connect us directly to major cities and transport hubs. The nearest train station, Frederiksværk Station which is both a stop for local buses as well as the local train "Grisen" which goes from Hillerød Station to Hundested, is only a short walk away (10 minutes), which provides a direct connection to Copenhagen and other major cities .

Bus connections:

There are regular bus services serving the area around Frederiksværk, making it easy for groups to plan their journey directly to our doorstep. We work closely with local bus operators to ensure groups can enjoy a smooth transport experience and we can assist in arranging private bus hire for larger groups who want a bespoke transport solution.

Arrival and Departure

Upon arrival:

When you arrive, you will be greeted by our friendly staff who will give you a thorough introduction to our facilities. This introduction includes a tour of the area, where we show you where you can find everything from sleeping facilities to activity areas and kitchens. We will also review any planned activities, rules and answer any questions you may have. Our aim is to ensure that you feel at home and ready to start your adventure with us.

On departure:

We appreciate that you leave your accommodation and common areas in a state that is ready for the next guests. This involves a grounded clean-up, including sweeping floors, emptying trash cans and removing personal belongings. We also expect all used kitchen utensils and crockery to be cleaned and put back in place. By following these guidelines, you help us maintain the high standards we set for our facilities and ensure a pleasant experience for all guests.


Catering

At Frederiksværk Camping & Vandrehjem, we offer flexible catering options to meet all needs and preferences during your camp school stay. We understand the importance of nutritious and tasty meals for an active day, which is why we have created two main catering options:

1. Self-catering in our fully equipped industrial kitchen:

For groups that prefer to do the cooking themselves, we offer access to our modern industrial kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare meals for large groups, from professional hobs and ovens to fridges and freezer options. This gives you the freedom to plan and prepare your own meals according to taste and needs, which can be a fun and unifying activity for the group. We provide all the necessary kitchen equipment and service so that you can easily handle the cooking.

2. Catering from us – Let us take care of the food:

For those who want to avoid the hassle of cooking themselves, we offer a full catering solution, where our experienced kitchen staff prepare and serve the meals. Our catering includes a variety of menus that can be adapted to your wishes and any dietary requirements. From breakfast to packed lunches to nutritious evening meals - we make sure that you are well fed with tasty and healthy food. Our meals are prepared with a focus on fresh, local ingredients to ensure the best quality and taste.

Duration and Activities

At Frederiksværk Camping & Vandrehjem, we are proud to be able to offer a wide selection of activities that suit the length and interests of every camp school. Regardless of whether you are planning a short weekend trip or a week-long camp school, we have activities that will enrich your stay and create lasting memories for the participants.

Meals:

We encourage all our guests to bring drinking bottles and packed lunches for day trips and activities outside the campsite. This ensures that you always have access to refreshments and nutrition, regardless of where you are. For those who want the convenience of purchasing drinks on site, we offer a selection of refreshments which can be purchased from our reception or kiosk. Our goal is to ensure that you always have access to refreshments that can keep you hydrated and energized throughout your adventure.

Short Camp:

For shorter stays, we have designed activities that maximize your time with us. This includes guided walks in the surrounding natural area, where students can learn about local flora and fauna, as well as half-day canoe trips on the nearby waterways, which provide unique views of the landscape from the water. Our sports facilities, including tennis courts and playgrounds, are also available to promote teamwork and physical activity among students.

Long Camp:

For camp schools of longer duration, we expand our activity offer to include deeper exploration of the area and its cultural attractions. This may include organized field trips to historic sites, cultural institutions and natural areas that allow students to delve into the history and natural heritage of the region. We also offer specialized workshops and activities such as children's discos, movie nights and team building exercises designed to strengthen community and personal development.

Customized Activity Programs:

Rules for Teachers and children

To ensure a pleasant and trouble-free stay for all our guests, we have established a set of rules that we ask all instructors and groups to follow during their stay with us.

Meals and Kitchen Etiquette:

  • After each meal, please place all used crockery on the dishwashing trolley according to the staff's instructions.
  • The tables must be wiped with a wet cloth, which is provided by the staff at all meals.
  • The floor must be swept after all meals to maintain cleanliness in the dining area.

Outdoor activities:

  • All ball games are allowed after 15:30 at the high school football field and must be supervised by at least one teacher.
  • At campfire activities, there must always be at least one teacher present.
  • A filled water jug ​​must be placed at least 4 meters from the fire when it is lit, for safety's sake.
  • The fire must be completely extinguished at bedtime.
  • Garden games and other equipment can be borrowed at reception.

Room standards:

  • Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all buildings in the area, including the large wooden terrace.
  • Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly in ashtrays.
  • On departure, rooms and cabins must be left in the same condition as on arrival. This includes sweeping the floor, emptying the bins in the container at the entrance gate, and making sure duvets, pillows and mattresses are neatly put away.
  • Use of bed linen is mandatory for all beds.

General Rules:

  • Children must always move within the restricted area if they are not accompanied by an adult.
  • We encourage everyone to treat the site's facilities with respect, just as you would at home or at school.
  • From 21:00 to 07:00 we encourage quiet play to ensure a calm atmosphere for all guests.
  • Kindness and consideration for other guests at the campsite is essential.
  • The staff and adults have the final say in all situations.
  • Shoes must be removed inside all buildings.
  • The most important rule is that we all have fun and strive to create the best camp school experience!
